Los Drámaticos (Paddy Anderson and Victor Henríquez) were formed in Teatro cabaret restaurant (hence our name!) in 2011. We play and sing well-known songs and instrumental pieces in a variety of styles from around the Spanish speaking world (Spain, Cuba, Mexico, Chile, Argentina).
Here’s a soundcloud link to our version of the popular Los Jaivas tune: Todos Juntos.
Victor plays the charango (wonderful small Andino stringed instrument traditionally constructed using an Armadillo shell!) and the guitar and I play flamenco guitar. We also both sing and harmonise with each other. We play joyful, infectious music – great for parties! A new project has Los Dramáticos collaborating with some great jazz musicians – Scott Flanigan (piano); Linley Hamilton (trumpet); Steve Davis (drums). Latin jazz, with afro-cuban rhythms, and beautiful solos from great musicians – A LOT of fun!
